Nursing Services

Our nursing service is focused on making sure our patients received the focused care they deserve. Our team is experienced in delivering a nursing care that includes family medicine, lifestyle medicine, community and long-term care with a speciality interest in Geriatrics. Under the supervision of our family physician, our nurse’s scope of practice includes but not limited to the list below;

  • Assist with medication management 

  • Assist with chronic disease management 

  • Refer to social work - (if the patient needs help accessing funding for medication etc.) 

  •  Smoking cessation

  • MoCA memory testing

  • BP checks and vital signs 

  • Suture/staple removal 

  • Dressing changes/wound care 

  • Contraceptive Management

  • Education and monitoring regarding Diabetes, COPD, CHF, Hypertension, self-care at home, and other topics.

  • Group lifestyle education 

  •  Irrigation of ear wax

  • Immunisations--to be referred to travel clinics or public health for all vaccines

  • B12 shots

  • Plantar wart treatment

  • INRs with clinical order set

  • Referrals to community (Home & Community Care, Palliative Care, Mental Health and Addictions, etc)

  • Allergy treatments (allergy shots)

  • Advance Care planning/MOST conversation

  • Well-baby checks—appointment with physician afterwards

  • Mental Health checks

  • Lifestyle and/or mental health coaching on regular basis

  • Home visits

  • Consult re: medical system access

  • Lab reviews for normal results or as per direction from physician

  • FRAX scores from BMD—lifestyle recommendations

  • FRS for lipids—along with lifestyle recommendations

  • CIWA checks for basic Alcohol detoxification

  • Communication/liaison with Island Health re: patient care

  • Relay/Interpretation of lab results/anatomy to patients

  • Infection control education for staff/patients

  • UTI management with clinical order sets

  • Lab tests: swabs, urine tests

  • Complete referrals/letters as directed by physician

  • Complete required requisitions

  • Monofilament testing

  • Prevention screening/monitoring/education


Nursing Service Cost: $85 per visit (procedure fee may apply)

Note: If Physician consultation is required on same visit, the difference in physician fee will apply.
